Control decks in old school Magic
Control decks try to get neutralize opponent's threat early on, gain control on the midgame thanks to card advantage, then squeeze you like a lemon.
The Deck
The infamous deck made notorious by Brian Weissman on usenet in 1995. It is a U/W “permission” deck splashing other colours
- Jayemdae Tome (“book”) for card advantage
- blue for counterspells and power cards
- white for removal
- a splash of black for Demonic Tutor and Mind Twist, green for Regrowth, and red for Fireball
Still the bogeyman of the format…
